Blekinge County Council in Sweden is investing in a total solution from Sectra for handling patient information and radiology images. Through a five-year contract comprising both the radiology and mammography departments, the County Council strengthens its cooperation with Sectra. The order value amounts to approximately SEK 8 million.
Blekinge County Council already uses Sectra's software for handling digital radiology images (PACS) and is now investing in a common system that can handle all patient data (RIS) from radiology and mammography departments. The contract also includes service and upgrade agreements.
A common RIS and close integration of RIS and PACS means that the departments' workflow can be made more efficient. Information management and reporting will also be easier. This contributes to an improved service for referring departments, which in turn leads to more efficient and better care.
"This contract with Blekinge County Council has allowed us to expand a good partnership," says Gösta Tidell, sales manager at Sectra Skandinavien AB. "This is yet another phase in our strategic investment in mammography and proof that we can offer an attractive RIS/PACS solution."
