The IT and medical technology company Sectra was announced the winner in the category “ISV/Packaged Software Solutions” at Microsoft’s fifth Microsoft .NET Awards. The competition acknowledges and rewards Microsoft partners that have developed the most innovative IT solutions based on the .NET platform.
The jury’s motivation was: “Sectra has developed a high-performance system for workstations and servers using streaming technology that enables radiologists to quickly, easily and intuitively gain access to radiology images for diagnosis.”
With the accelerating pace of today’s technical development, new modalities will soon provide up to terabyte datasets for single radiology examinations resulting in a true data explosion. This scenario presents the healthcare sector with major challenges. Sectra’s radiology solution (PACS) features a revolutionary multi-dimensional image-handling model (patents pending), in which only relevant data needed in each instance is transferred. With this solution, radiologists gain fast access and can start working with the examinations within seconds, regardless of the size of the dataset.
