Preparing for the upcoming EU-presidency:

Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs secures embassy communications with Sectra’s Tiger products

The Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has purchased Sectra’s Tiger system to secure communication between the country’s decision-makers and its embassy officials. The agreement comprises Tiger XS products for secure voice communications.

“We are now in the process of preparing for the upcoming EU-presidency in 2011. One important assignment for our ambassadors is to communicate classified information in a secure manner, to keep decision-makers in Hungary and within the EU updated. The Tiger XS is a very simple product to use and resolves our need for secure communication in a cost-efficient manner,” Dr. Márta Fekszi Horváthné, State Secretary of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses the Ministry’s stand point.

Tiger products are used by government authorities and defense department customers in half of the 27 EU member states. The Tiger XS is a personal voice encryptor that protects mobile and fixed communications and also provides the possibility of encrypted fax and data transfers. Tiger XS has been security-approved by the EU up to and including the high security level Secret UE.

“As a result of Sectra’s investment in protecting voice communications between high-level officials in the European authority market, we now have the possibility of welcoming the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to our circle of Tiger users,” says Jan-Olof Brüer, President and CEO of Sectra.
