With Sectra Breast Imaging PACS the entire workflow, from scheduling and examination to image reviewing and patient information management, can be streamlined.

A typical workflow at a digital mammography department

Upon arrival to the department the patient is registered in the RIS and the patient list at the modality is automatically updated . While the patient is examined , the technician assures satisfactory image quality at the modality workstation. The patient may also be examined at other modalities such as MRI and Ultrasound .

All images are automatically transferred to the online PACS archive . The PACS archive has back-up for highest possible safety .

The images from the current examination and any previous examinations are automatically available for display at any Sectra PACS workstation . The reading radiologist uses a dedicated multi-modality PACS workstation for breast imaging, IDS5™/mx.net . All types of images can be displayed according to the radiologist's preferences. Tools for accurate and fast diagnosis are easliy accessible. The referring physician has instant access to images as well as the digital report as the radiologist's report is signed.
