SyntheticMR AB is devoted to the visualization of Synthetic MRI. Special care has been taken to streamline the reading of quantified MR data to a user-friendly and easily recognizable interface, similar to the normal PACS environment. The SyMRI studios are intended to be used for general screening, anatomical volume measurements, disease status estimation and pathology outlining.
Synthetic magnetic resonance imaging means, for example for the brain, that a single 5 minutes scan is sufficient to generate the normal T1W, T2W and FLAIR images and segmented images displaying only white matter, only grey matter, only CSF or, most importantly, only tissue that deviates from healthy values and therefore can be regarded as pathological. This provides many diagnostic possibilities in a very short time. Using the SyMRI software you may expect higher patient throughput, achieved through more efficient scanning and automatic assistance in tissue recognition.
Synthetic magnetic resonance imaging builds on the absolute measurement of MR parameters such as T1 relaxation time, T2 relaxation time and proton density PD. Based on these values, any conventional T1 and T2 weighted images can be synthesized, controllable in your PACS and without rescanning the patient. Furthermore each tissue has its own unique combination of MR parameters and therefore Synthetic Magnetic Resonance Imaging allows the anatomy to be automatically segmented into various tissue components.
Based on a single 5 minute scan SyMRI Brain Studio provides brain examinations that enables synthetic T1- and T2-weighted images with freely chosen scanner parameters to be shown in PACS. Automatic tissue segmentation and highlighting of potential pathology is available through simple mouse clicks. A volume estimation of every tissue is given both for the complete brain as for indicated areas. The quantitative data is displayed in a multi-dimensional plot for fast pathology recognition.
Based on a single breath-hold scan Cardiac Late Gadolinium Enhancement images can be synthesized with a variable inversion delay time. A single scan results in a whole range of inversion images where the optimal delay time can be found without the need to scan again. No more struggle, let the software do the work.
SyMRI Brain Studio and SyMRI Cardiac Studio are installed as a plug-in into the normal IDS5 environment and can be easily reached through the pop-up menu. The software adjustment of the scanner is included (only available on Philips Achieva as yet).
CE and FDA clearance pending.
