Radiology IT solutions

Sectra Diagnostic Imaging Suite features Sectra’s web based RIS/PACS solution optimized for efficient radiology workflows. Sectra Diagnostic Imaging Suite significantly increases efficiency by coordinating all components of enterprise workflow, including efficient planning, ADT, order-entry, scheduling, optimal patient throughput and documentation, reporting, follow-up and billing.

News at RSNA included:

  • A single workstation reporting solution with embedded speech recognition within Sectra PACS, regardless or RIS or HIS, to further streamline radiologist’s workflows.
  • Sectra RIS for North America – New EHR Module provides clinical decision support tools as part of its computerized physician order entry (CPOE) system that utilizes the ACR Appropriateness Criteria® and lab test workflow. The CPOE is integrated with the Sectra RIS Referring Physician Portal. The EHR module also includes a Patient Portal to provide e-mail result notifications to patients and display all relevant healthcare information and history. The Sectra RIS EHR Module supports certification criteria to meet Meaningful Use objectives under the ARRA’s EHR Incentive Program.

Sectra RIS/PACS web-based access offers referring physicians all the functionality they require, including on-line ordering, full access to reports and images and advanced imaging tools such as pre-operative planning tools and volume visualization. Extensive HIS/EPR integration provides a single point of entry to complete patient overviews in EPR, including thumbnails of both radiology and non-radiology images. News at RSNA includes:

  • Sectra Referring Physician Portal for North America –  New EHR functionality provides clinical decision support tools as part of its computerized physician order entry (CPOE) system that utilizes the ACR Appropriateness Criteria®. Women’s health solutions

Sectra OneScreen
At RSNA Sectra launched Sectra OneScreen - a cost-effective online solution to identify patients in the risk group for osteoporosis. The service is especially convenient in combination with mammography. With a single, standard X-ray image of the hand the women’s bone health (Bone Mineral Density, BMD) is estimated, using the patented DXR (Digital X-ray Radiogrammetry) technology. The image is taken at the same time as breast images, using the same radiology equipment. It is then sent to Sectra’s online lab for analysis. With the BMD result and other known risk factors, individuals with increased risk of future fractures can easily be identified.

Sectra Breast Imaging PACS
Sectra also showcased Sectra Breast Imaging PACS, which offers tools to streamline mammography workflows within high-volume screening and advanced diagnostic mammography. Launched at RSNA is the possibility to read breast tomosynthesis images in Sectra Breast Imaging PACS.

Sectra Breast Imaging PACS features true multi-modality capabilities and offers instant access to all the advanced diagnostic tools needed by a radiologist in a single diagnostic workstation. Regardless of modality or vendor, all breast images are automatically aligned and displayed side-by-side in the same size and dimension. CAD is an integrated part of the reading workstation, and the ergonomic key pad offers fast and easy access to the most commonly used tools.

Sectra OneScreen - an online service for bone health assessment

Osteoporosis is one of the most painful and costly diseases in the world. By early identification of patients at high risk of osteoporotic fractures, treatment can be initiated that slows down disease development. Treatment is cheap in comparison to the cost for fractures and it is possible that society can even save money from screening women for osteoporosis and thereby prevent fractures. Sectra OneScreen is a cost-effective online service allowing women to assess their bone health at the mammography examination.
