IT and medical technology company Sectra (Link) is set to grow further by establishing an imaging development team in the UK. This investment is part of Sectra’s overall strategy to expand its medical systems operations in the UK market.
Unveiling Sectra’s on-going investment into the UK market place the company has announced two important developments, which focus on delivering a fully integrated solution to support radiology workflows both within a Trust and the transfer of data between Trusts.
To deliver and support an integrated RIS/PACS solution Sectra is building a specialised team who will be focused on taking its existing solutions and ensuring they support the required UK functionality. By recruiting a group with strong clinical experience and leading IT development capability, Sectra will increase its ability to evaluate current and anticipated market needs and to rapidly develop locally adapted robust and effective solutions. The new development team is a part of Sectra Ltd.
Sectra has also today, June 7, announced the acquisition (Link) of Burnbanks Systems, the provider of the Image Exchange Portal and plans to continue the development of this service to expand integration of systems across the NHS.
These two developments will deliver an end to end integration of the PACS & RIS, provide a seamless workflow as patients are transferred between different sites and will also provide support for teleradiology and hosted automated diagnostic services.
